Just thought I might share this song. It’s so easy to buy in to whatever the world thinks is important or appealing, but I can see that I have to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. Then everything else becomes dim and I can see the beauty of heaven, instead of being so earthbound. I need to see Jesus more, and sometimes songs like this really help reset my focus. I’ve had it playing on repeat for quite a while now as I work on my testimony…
Wow. What a chorus! What a voice!

“It only gets stronger
It only goes deeper
My head’s underwater, but somehow
I can finally breathe”
When I hear this part, I think of Jesus as like my scuba suit (or like…some special fish gills) in the deep seas of the world! Jesus doesn’t always remove me from difficult situations, but he never leaves me alone.
Thanks for this song and encouraging reminder!
Woww love this song! Somehow it reminds me of the last part of Pilgrim’s Progress, when Christian and Hopeful had to cross the river before entering the celestial city. It’s so easy to drown in my doubts and fears, but always remember that with Jesus, I can breathe well even under water!
This reminds me of the passage about going into deeper waters with Jesus. It’s deeper, scarier, unknown, maybe crazier, but that’s where Jesus becomes so much more real
This song describes when Jesus gives me freedom from my sin after struggling so much “my heads underwater but I can finally breathe…your love is setting me free” his love is so overwhelming I’m underwater but this burden has been lifted so I can finally breathe. Praise Jesus who sets people free so they can finally breathe!
Thank you for this reminder to recenter our eyes on Jesus in this the middle of this world. Right after he says “It only gets stronger” for the first time it’s like this song helps you get into a spiritual mode and other things seem dimmer and fade when focusing on Jesus. I am encouraged to seek Jesus even in the deeper (under)waters. It might be scary or require some self-denial at first, but amazingly it’s often there when I’m underwater with Jesus that I feel really alive and free!
